Our founder, Willem van der Linde, grew up in the North-West Province of South Africa. He completed his schooling in the town of Potchefstroom. After school he joined the South African Air Force. Four years into his Air Force career, he obtained an engineering diploma.

When he left the Air Force he became involved in his parents drilling company doing Exploration- and Water drilling. After his involvement with the drilling, he furthered his studies and became a graduated mechanical engineer after which he started his career in the Mechanical Engineering industry.

​

He was employed by international corporate companies such as Dowson & Dobson International and Klockner-Becorit. Willem was sent to Germany, by Klockner-Becorit, where he familiarized himself with the perfection of German design techniques. After a dynamic career of 22 years, Willem started Engineering Design and Development.

​

 

Our first project was for SASOL Mines which we completed ahead of schedule resulting in our reputation growing so fast that many other large projects came our way. Our initial focus was on the mining industry and other heavy industries until 2009 when we also entered the textile industry. We became one of the leading Textile Machinery Manufactures in South Africa and created the Maslin Machinery brand soon after.

Since 2009 we have further expanded into the manufacturing of modern specialized machinery for Heavy Mining-, Drilling-,Packaging-, Geotextiles-, Non-woven textiles-, Weaving- and Spinning industries.

Willem van der Linde’s son grew up in the mechanical engineering environment and today are actively involved in the group of  companies. His son Karl van der Linde, was appointed as manager in the group of companies..
